# witz > witz (https://witz.chat) is a birthday gift that everyone makes together. You start a gift, the people you invite each leave a short message (no sign-up to contribute), and then you give it one of two ways: the full **surprise call** — a short group call where an AI guest listens while everyone celebrates and reminisces, then turns the messages and the conversation into a painting, a "from all of us" greeting, and a short video with a song, which the birthday person reshapes live just by talking ("make the song funnier", "add our dog") — or, if a call isn't possible, a **free card**: everyone's messages published as a shareable page with a painting made from them. Either way the birthday person keeps a shareable keepsake. Free to start; the free card stays free. witz is a gift, not an app the recipient installs: the organizer sets it up, and the birthday person experiences it with nothing to buy or sign up for. There are no accounts — a private dashboard link is your only credential. The call runs on the account-free, end-to-end-encrypted Kibitz calling floor with the Witbitz AI-in-a-call runtime — direct, peer-to-peer, no media server. witz is multilingual (17 languages). Operated by the Witbitz project. This file is a map for language models. The whole site inlined into one file is at https://witz.chat/llms-full.txt. ## What it is - [About witz](https://witz.chat/about.md): the gift step by step, the two ways to give it (the surprise call vs. the free card), what the AI makes, and what you keep. - [The 38-second film](https://witz.chat/clip.md): a scene-by-scene description + full transcript of the short film that shows how witz works, end to end (the AI host joining the call and turning everyone's memories into a keepsake). Watch it at https://witz.chat/clip.mp4 (the animated web version is https://witz.chat/clip). The film is **native in every site language** — not subtitled: each cut is rendered with its own voice-over and cast, right-to-left where the script needs it, and the birthday name is transliterated into the local script. ## Make one - [Make a birthday gift](https://witz.chat/birthday): start a gift — name the person and the occasion, collect everyone's messages (up to 280 characters each, just a name + note, no sign-up), edit the details and leave any out, then either buy the surprise call or send a free card. Messages appear in a private dashboard as they arrive. Free to start. ## Private gifts (end-to-end encrypted) A gift can be marked **private** at creation. The organizer's device mints a room key that never leaves it, and from then on the operator is blind: each contributor's message is sealed to the gift's public key (so a contributor can add a wish but cannot read anyone else's), and the finished keepsake is sealed too. Only someone holding the key — the organizer's dashboard link, or the honoree's — can decrypt and download it. witz is operated by the Witbitz project, whose whole platform is built on this property; a private gift is that guarantee applied to the birthday loop. ## What you keep - **Keepsake** (`https://witz.chat/k/`): the surprise-call result — a gallery of the AI paintings (the honoree picks a cover), the "from all of us" greeting, and the keepsake video. A public page, shareable anywhere. - **Free card** (`https://witz.chat/c/`): the no-call fallback — everyone's messages published as a card, with a painting made from them. Free; upgradable to the call later. ## Policies - [Privacy](https://witz.chat/privacy): no accounts — a gift is a random id; what's stored (the gift details + messages + keepsakes), how the call and AI processing work, and the on-device list of the gifts you've made. Not directed to children. - [Terms](https://witz.chat/terms): a beta service; you and your contributors are responsible for what you submit; the keepsake and card pages are public; collecting messages and the free card are free, the surprise call needs a coupon or purchase key; provided "as is". Operated by the Witbitz project. ## The stack it's built on - [The ecosystem, layer by layer](https://witz.chat/ecosystem.md): how the three layers stack and compose — Kibitz (the calling floor), Witbitz (the AI-in-a-call platform), and Witz (this product) — with the boundary each one keeps. - [Kibitz](https://kibitz.chat): the account-free, peer-to-peer, end-to-end-encrypted calling floor (has its own https://kibitz.chat/llms.txt). - [Witbitz](https://witbitz.chat): dropping an AI agent into a live call (has its own https://witbitz.chat/llms.txt).
